Biography

Ahmad Shah Abdali (1722-1772) was a Pashtun military commander who founded the Durrani Empire in 1747. He is considered the founder of modern Afghanistan and is revered as a national hero. He defeated the Safavid and Mughal empires' remaining forces and established Afghanistan's independence.
